Beneficios de la embolización
preoperatoria en un quirófano
híbrido

INTRODUCCIÓN: el quirófano híbrido del Hospital General de México Dr. Eduardo Liceaga está equipado con un angiógrafo robótico
que permite realizar procedimientos vasculares y viscerales complejos
mínimamente invasivos.
OBJETIVO: presentar las primeras experiencias y evaluar los beneficios
de la embolización preoperatoria.
MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: estudio observacional, descriptivo de serie
de casos. Se revisaron los expedientes clínicos, archivo de imágenes
y cuestionario a los cirujanos y anestesiólogo.
RESULTADOS: se realizaron 23 embolizaciones preoperatorias. Las
lesiones embolizadas fueron 13 neoplasias, 8 malformaciones arteriovenosas y dos casos de placenta percreta. Se utilizaron materiales
embolizantes temporales y permanentes.
CONCLUSIONES: operaron de una a cuatro especialidades quirúrgicas
luego de la embolización. Todos los encuestados están de acuerdo
en que existe menor sangrado transoperatorio. Los cirujanos y anestesiólogo reconocen los beneficios de la embolización preoperatoria
en el quirófano híbrido.

INTRODUCTION: the hybrid operating room at Hospital General de
Mexico Dr. Eduardo Liceaga is equipped with a robotic angiograph
which allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive complex vascular
and visceral procedures.
PURPOSE: present our initial experiences and evaluate the benefits
of preoperative embolization.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: a descriptive, observational study of a
series of cases. We reviewed clinical records, image files, and questionnaires with surgeons and an anesthesiologist.
RESULTS: twenty-three (23) preoperative embolizations were performed. The lesions embolized were 13 neoplasms, 8 arteriovenous
malformations, and two cases of placenta percreta. Temporary and
permanent embolizing materials were used.
CONCLUSIONS: operations in one to four areas of surgical specialization were performed following embolization. All interview subjects
agreed that there was less transoperative bleeding. The surgeons and
anesthesiologist recognize the benefits of preoperative embolization
in the hybrid operating room.
